Exhibition Piece - Ideas Continued!

If you have been following my blog about preparing for my exhibition piece then this will hopefully make sense! If not then here is a reminder of my concept:

My concept is about representing women who feel lost, trapped and overwhelmed on the inside, whilst putting on a front to the rest of the world. I want to capture their inner most thoughts, feelings and fears. I have chosen to represent 3 different types of women in three separate photo shoots.
I have decided to scrap my original idea of each shoot having 2 separate looks. I will now be sticking with the 3 shoots but they will just have one 'look' each. I will explain these 3 shoots as best I can. They are all open to suggestion by anyone with ideas and subject to change if required.

Shoot 1 - High Powered Business Woman
Who I am Representing: High powered business woman who juggles too many things in her life. Earns a lot of money but does not have the time to spend it, let alone take time out to relax, calm down and sort out any problems that life throws her way. When many women would seek help and support during times of extreme stress, there are some women who feel they do not have the time and turn to quick fixes. From a multitude of prescription drugs to illegal drugs and alcohol.
The Idea for the shoot: This woman will be alone in a room (perhaps sitting on a bay window with sunlight streaming through) Her nails will have long extensions with fake money notes. Little bags of fake drugs will be used to create accessories around the outfit. She will be dressed in such a way to represent business. Her make up will include glitter running down her face to represent tears. Her hair will be a uniformed mess. There will be references to her work and to alcohol within the shot also.
Shoot 2 - Desperate Housewife

Who I am Representing:Desperate Housewife. There are many women with a young child/children who choose to embrace a traditional role of housewife: cooking, cleaning and chores in addition to caring for the children. However some ‘house wives’ struggle with the transition of becoming a house wife after swapping their professional life for this new one. Feeling overwhelmed, trapped, lonely and depressed are all outlooks easily adopted by an overworked housewife and can lead to a breakdown in various ways.
The Idea for the shoot: I want to show the breakdown and distress of how this busy, exhausted and lonely housewife really feels. I want the model to take on the role of a broken doll in terms of pose and expression. She will be covered in a matte white powder to represent the flour from her baking falling her over her. Her hair will be a mess (Avante Garde style), as will the kitchen behind her. There will be references to kids toys & all her chores in the background.

Shoot 3 - Body Confidence
Who I am Representing:
The pressure to look ‘perfect’ is plastered all over the media. With approximately six billion people in the world, and a mere ten million of them suffering with some type of disordered eating, the media obviously doesn't cause everyone to develop Anorexia, Bulimia or Compulsive Overeating. However the media most certainly contributes to dieting and size discrimination. On television, in magazines and newspapers, we are continually exposed to the notion that losing weight will make us happier, more successful, find/keep love etc. These issues trouble many women who become obsessed and overwhelmed with the need to achieve and maintain an unhealthy thin ‘look’.
The Idea for the shoot: The full idea to this shoot is currently undecided and very much open to suggestion. I currently have an idea of creating a dress from front covers of glossy magazines and using tape measures as the accessories. I want this shoot to be the most 'fashion' of them all and look quite stylized. The make up is the make the model look 'gaunt' in a fashion way and a messy avante garde hair style also. This shoot could be achieved in a stdio, with a dark background and a clothes rack behind (almost in darkness) as reference to fashion. However the location and idea of this may well change as there may well be a better way to represent what I am going for here.If anyone wants to get involved in anyway or add ideas or thoughts then please do get in touch!
